One of the things I have learned from this project is no matter what your circumstances are - or what may have happened to you in the past - the human spirit can never be conquered.

It is a truly powerful thing.

The next person we spoke to from Headway North West London was called Lee and you will see or hear from the podcast, he is one of the most incredible people I have ever met or seen in my life.

You will hear his speech is one of the most affected areas by his brain injury, but his courage and strength of character are truly staggering.

His words and the advice he gives are so profound and so powerful, they really slice right through you as a person and connect directly with your heart.

I can guarantee you, whatever the image you may have conjured up of him in your head from his lovely personality, the REAL him is far more heroic than anything our minds could ever picture.

Imagine being trapped inside of your own body and wanting to - or trying to - get across what you may be feeling all of the time, but for whatever reason your body or brain has let you down - through absolutely no fault of your own.

Added to this image of a beautiful human being, later on in the day when we were all sat around having our lunches together around a big table, he then got down on the floor and starting doing some press ups/planking!

As a fan of exercise, I had nothing but more respect for him then.

I have often said your self-confidence or self-esteem are absolutely obliterated by a brain injury because you feel so different to everyone in society - you feel you have no place in the world.

Headway gives you a place in the world back, because you are surrounded by fellow brain injury survivors just like you.

Except the likes of Lee are nothing like you - they are far more stronger or amazing then you could ever dream of!

His personality truly shone through and if I could be just half of the amazing person he is - or show at least half of his strength or determination he has - then I would be a better person for it.

This is definitely something I am taking from this project.

I am learning so much about myself and the human spirit.

If the world had more people like Lee, with even a single percentage of his strength, or courage, or determination, then it would be a better place.
