This is another of the great things I have noticed about the other Headways we have visited recently - all of the buildings used to be something else or usually are something else, and have now been transformed into something new - you can see see where I am going with this metaphorically can't you?
As with all of our Headway ventures, our visit started with a cup of tea with volunteers and service users. In this particular group we were all sitting around tables in one giant circle.
The first thing which was abundantly clear was how much fun is had in this amazing group - so many wonderful personalities all mixing together with humour and laughter.
We started off with some table-top exercises and mindfulness before Amy and I introduced ourselves and our project. After we had finished our "story", everyone then introduced themselves and we were officially "in" the gang.
We were lucky enough to interview ten brain-injury survivors in our short time at Headway North West London and we had plenty of moments of laughter and a fair few tears - let me tell you! Each story we heard was inspiring and so much amazing advice was given.
